Very soon the reclusive nation of Shangri La will be revealed, expanding the known territory in Merika's resurgence.

Shangri La exists on the flooded remains of the massive megalopolis known as Greater Los Angeles, and ruled with absolute authority by a grand council which has sought to keep their nation hidden from outsiders for over a century.

Comprised of floating city-states cobbled together from the wreckage of old watercraft and any buoyant materials obtainable, the Shangrilese are a hardy people who often make a living plying the waterways of the Washed Coast as pirates and slavers. Such bands often carry their watercraft overland to avoid their enemies and what little lawful authority exist in the region.

Below we see one such crew of pirates on their way to the water who had the misfortune of garnering the attention of a pack of local mountain lions. Colloquially dubbed Morongo Lions, the fierce mountain lions native to the south-western parts of the Merikan wastes are particularly feared for their aggression, strength, and fearlessness around humans.

Morongo lions are fully capable of killing a man with a single bite from their powerful jaws before leaping away with their prey held tightly in their maw. It is not uncommon for trade caravans to be ambushed by prides of lions who make short work of the boar teams before retreating to bloodily feast in the rocky foothills.

For this unfortunate gang of pirates the best they can hope for is a long, hot slog through the barren wastes of Mojave--all the while hoping that the two boars previously sacrificed were enough to satiate the unseen predators at large.

A close up of the boat's interior where you can see the .50 cal machine guns and boarding gear (axes, ladder, chain).

That looks amazing! I didn't realize how much you had done on this stuff. Very impressive. I espcially like the paint job on the hull of the boat, and all the little details you put into it.

What do you think the stats on the Morongo Lions should be?

Thanks! I am lucky enough to have a very, very well-stocked model railroad store near me and it was a bounty of great modern bits to include on the boat.

Good question. They need to be strong, obviously, and I'd like a way to represent their death-grip and leap ability. I'll play around with some stats and send them your way.
