So zombies are a huge deal right now, so I thought I'd bring this post over to the new boards. We know that the official word is no zombies in the game from the team. That doesn't stop us from adding in what we like though.

I am working on a "zombie" style faction, as well as possibly an opposing faction specifically to battle the zombie-esque faction. I'm working them to fit within the framework of Wreck Age that we know so far, so it's plausible cannon (i.e. they don't mess anything else up to contradict cannon).
When the game is out I'll have much more information on my zombies to share. Right now it's a bit on the d/l, since I hate putting out unfinished work.

So what do other people think of zombies? Ideas for zombies in the game?

yeah, I'm lobbying too for adding zombies to wreck-age, I have been working on a zombie faction even before anybody knew about the game!

I think it's hilarious that this thread got brought over. I think in spite of Matt and Anton's best efforts, some sort of zombie is going to end up in the game.
I am not prepared.

Sylvain sent me pics of zombie Smurfs once that he was working on in his free time. They were in various levels of nakedness. We could make a game out of that I guess?

Wear you down? No, I think we can add it in just fine ourselves thank you.
Seriously, You know what I'm doing. I'm doing it not because I like zombies (I think they're overplayed) but because the idea I had was pretty fun IMO. Plus I can run it parallel to stories without messing up cannon while it can still be added in without regard to canon without really any major changes. I think I've expanded a bit since I told you about it though. Once more rules come out I can really start to hammer the pieces down though.
Really, don't add zombies if they don't fit. Adding zombies for no reason other than to add zombies takes away from what you want to make. I think enough of us will add in the details that you can really avoid the issue.

Well I would hope cannons would be included anyways. I mean, what better way to show those stitchmen you mean business than a blundercannon made out of a sewage line and a hell of a lot of gun powder, glass, nails and left over feces in the pipe,

I want to play-test grapeshot this week actually. It does make a lot of sense. Anyone see the Mythbusters talking about random stuff crammed into cannons? Turns out grapeshot (little metal balls) was 5x more effective than silverware and glass bottles or what have you.

And I'll turn down the zombie hate, except for an avatar I might use...

Cheers!

You do not have to play with zombies if you do not want to.

But I like to!

As mentioned then due to a virus they could behave like zombies but not actually BE living dead.

Necromancy on a zombie thread makes sense.
I had a talk with my son, and it really reminded me of this thread, so...

My 7 yr old son had a fantastic observation about zombies:

"Dad, shouldn't there only ever be, like, one super zombie? I mean, they eat brains, and zombies have brains, so...they should be eating eachother's brains like crazy. So lot's of zombies doesn't make sense, as they would just eat eachother since they are so slow and dumb."

Bam. There is some logic for no zombies in Wreck age :)

I think that there is PLENTY of logic for no zombies in Wreck Age.

Like the fact that there's little basis in reality for them. Yeah, realistic sci-fi setting needs no magical zombie stuff.

There's just something brain-breaking about seeing the 'there's no need for magical stuff' argument from someone with a Twilight Sparkle avatar... :)

I think cannabals would fit the scheme of things a lot better. Or a cannabalistic religious cult that even the stitchers are worried about.. that could make for some really cool operative games I'm thinkin

There are lots of cannibals and drug addicts already written into the game... who have zombie-like qualities...

And of course, there's always home-brews.

Didn't we already see some cannibals? That stuff is mostly just flavor and easy to add in.

That's totally speculative at this point, I think the police are looking to put anything out there that denies the impending zombie apocalypse.

I still think zombies are played out though, regardless...

What I don't get is why the homeless guy, who apparently wasn't dead, just let the dude eat his face! I mean...why not run? or something!!

Anyway, whipping boy or not, Bath Salts don't appear to have ANY appeal as a drug. I am stumped.
