In anticipation of the book coming out I am starting to work on fleshing out my Staker community for campaign play. Yes, this is a bit soon, and yes I like to go overboard with my characters. Let me know if you have any feedback on the denizens of my yet unnamed Staker commune. Stats to come later of course.

Ansen (Fieldhand) - This is not Ansen's first settlement, although he refuses to talk about what befell the other. He is however more than happy to lend advice to anyone on how to found a community, although he always asks that those he advises be skeptical of anything gleaned from a man who watched his old town burn while returning for a trading trip to Switch City. Not particularly suited to defensive planning, he refuses to be considered for a leadership position that is not agricultural in nature. That being said, he is more than willing to take up arms to defend what is his and his own.

'Walls? All I can tell you about walls is that they never are tall enough, wide enough or hard enough than they need to be in the end. Just a wall won't stop whoever is coming, but it’s a start!'

Sare (Outrider) - Once a wanderer who saw an approaching tribe of Drifters putting up tent on a ridge, Sare came to the walls begging for entrance and warning of the dangers that would be coming that night or early the next morning. Untrustworthy wanderers had tried many a ploy to gain entrance, but when the outriders to the east did not return at dusk the gates were opened and Sare was questioned for a few minutes. The guardsmen mustered and began preparing for an assault after that conversation, which may be the only thing that kept the settlement from being overrun that night. While not entirely trusted, Sare was then offered the opportunity to replace one of the missing Outriders, which she accepted after some thought. Now she diligently patrols the overgrown canyons and rocky hills of the area for threats, spending as little time in her community as possible while still enjoying some of the security and amenities during her visits. While not a perfect existence, it utilizes the skills she learned as a wanderer, keeps her out of the politics and drudgery of civilized life, but still satisfies her less and less rare desire for companionship and a warm meal.

'If you ain't doing a thing about the tribe coming, then let me back out of here so I can get a start before the burning starts.'

Well, what do you think? Starting on working on a campaign group yourself?

I like it, good direction, and lots of room for mobility through story. Needs some more PC's and their (who) they are, but you said it was early. I like the character in you book Euclid. I think that some of his attributes are essential in a campaign. Also I think that book could be a campaign! You will also need a rambler of some sort. A talker who likes the drink, maybe Ansen?

I am going to make a little backstory for each member of the 7 piece box set, for my personal use.

Glad you liked Euclid, I am currently about 15 pages into the second one.
