So, Adepeticon, as most of you probably know, will be the location of our first ever Wreck Age tournament.

We're looking to make it a memorable event, and we've already gotten a bunch of amazing terrain from Impudent Mortal that we're going to be putting together over the coming weeks.

We are knee-deep in playtesting the scenarios, and I was wondering if anyone wanted to share their crew lists on here, and if you had any suggestions for what you'd like to see the tournament encounters involve. Keep in mind, that we're trying to stay away from straight up shoot-outs, since that favors a certain kind of crew build, and we want to keep away from min-maxing as much as possible.

We want to throw you some curve balls, and create the framework for interesting and fun games at Adepticon...

What sorts of things can we do to achieve that goal?

I have to say that I liked the side missions you had for each faction last year. That totally changed the shootout to a more dynamic game IMO.

I see a few options that i can throw out:

CoF-
5 tweeker nubs (10ru) and 1 Tweeker Leader (50ru)

ArHK (2 versions)
Reg. Army
4 grunts (15ru), 1 German Shep (10ru), 1 Sgt(30ru)
Lost squad
This is work in progress

Dreg R Us
4 grunts (10ru), 3 bullies (20ru)

I think the Adepticon events specified crews from the four main factions only?

Drifters - overall concerned about Luddite trait getting in the way of objective completion, but here is a basic idea.

Berserker (elite)
Beast Handler (green)
Locust (green)
Locust (green)

Stakers - a good variety of skills here. Not as shooting heavy as most Staker lists.
Field Hand (trained)
Gear head (trained)
Scavenger (trained)
Dog

Its all still just ideas, but I'm trying not to go for pure violence.

As for scenario ideas, resource collecting seems like an obvious possibility, with harvest/scavenge checks perhaps. Perhaps an established community is suddenly discovered with all inhabitants dead, or just missing. Now all nearby crews are rushing to collect the supplies that were left. Rescue hostages? Secure a trade route? A scenario that involves negotiating with a NC could be interesting.

Yeah, the tournament rules say the 4 main factions only, but you can take fringers. I am glad I read the rules before I made my Church of Fun list.

So, "fringe characters may be hired." To me that sounds like I can hire whoever I want...so technically Im still ok.

The Fringes refer to characters not belonging to a faction, so CoF, the ARHK, etc, don't fall into that realm, as they have a specific faction. You could however hire any generic archetype.

For this tournament, there will be no penalty getting crew members from the Fringes, but depending on how it looks once we see it in play, there may be a 5RU cost for each, or something like that, but as of now, they are as is.

That said, BaSaint, you're definitely writing some intense lists... haha. In case everyone didn't know, this guy's the Kings of War tournament champion!
;)

Dragonslayer, there will absolutely be no issues with having the luddite trait, in fact, I'm looking for a few funny and interesting benefits to be added for it... but we'll see how that plays out.

I'm not sure that negotiating with NCs is doable in the first tournament, since it would involve an extra player for each one to be the Narrator, but maybe... Let me ponder that. Great ideas folks! Keep em coming!

I am intrigued with what you were planning on doing with them. They are such loveable psychopaths.

Just throwing ideas around, since I don't expect to get a crew this size modeled and painted. I am curious how it would play. I would try to spread out or split into groups so that one fleeing model doesn't spook the whole gang.

Drifter Swarm (appropriately enough featuring Locusts)
-all models have light armor
10 - Locust: Green, Scavenging, Bow,
10 - Locust: Green, First aid, Bow,
10 - Locust: Green, Athletics(running,) medium melee, molotov,
10 - Locust: Green, Athletics(running,) medium melee, molotov,
10 - Locust: Green, Harvesting, Junk Gun
10 - Locust: Green, Armorer, Pipe Rifle,
40 - Berserker: Trained, Athletics(running,) Armorer, Nerves of Steel, heavy melee, Shotgun,

This can be a brutal list in some scenarios, but keep in mind that the majority of the encounters are going to have a small deployment zone, so you might be stuck with all of your Characters in range of un-nerved effects... That might make for some very ugly first turn routes, just saying.

I think that is a lot of ranged for locusts as well, you would be rolling 1-2 dice A LOT.

The molotovs could spice things up a bit though haha.

Yes, that crew would definately have its own unique challenges.

Any crew I bring will more likely be in the 3-4 model range.
Something like this:

Stakers
35 - Field Hand - Trained, Pain Resistant, Harvesting 2, First Aid 1, Scavenging 1, Revolver Carbine, Light Revolver, Light Armor
35 - Guard - Trained, Nerves of Steel, Explosives 1, Armorer 1, Light Auto-pistol, Gas Grenade, Medium Armor
30 - Medic - Trained, Savant, Doctor 2, First Aid 1, Revolver Carbine, Light armor

Glad to see that the Stakers are getting some love.

Interesting mix of equipment, traits, and skills.

It looks like you put some thought into covering your bases.
