Since dropping the rulebook at the end of January, we've been a bit quiet, but particularly busy in regards to what's next.

First, being a dedicated starter box set.
In it will be 3 new Stitcher sculpts, and 5 new Drifter models that will be going head to head in the tentatively titled: Showdown at Burnt Tierra Gulch. It will include some terrain, new quickstart rules, as well as encounter sheets, stat cards and other goodies. We hope to have this ready for Adepticon. It will not be a limited release, like last years Adepticon box set was, but will instead go into regular production. We're still working out the MSRP on it, but somewhere around $70-80 is likely.

Next, we have the Uprisen, a sandbox style RPG setting usable for between 4 and 6 players (plus a Narrator). It's going to weigh in at over 150 pages, and is currently in the editing stages. It will be a digital download and 8x10 printed softcover, with an MSRP of somewhere around $20-30 (digital download will be around $10-15).

We may do pre-orders on these at a discounted rate, but not until we get a little further along on these projects, but we wanted to do a brief announcement on them, since we've been struggling to keep our mouths shut about them.

More on these very soon.

Heh, fancy lad. I like that. :)

To be fair, the original story and a LOT of the source material for the adventure was all Matthew's work. It was a great premise and a strong foundation to build upon, yus yus.

Well, you are pretty fancy!

Matt's short story is definitely an excellent lead-in to the adventure, agreed.

We're looking forward to finally having it out. Hopefully very soon. Too soon to talk ENnies?

It sounds like fun stuff. :) Terrain is always good. I like how wreck-age is written so I'll take a peek at other projects.

We have a bunch of other projects on the horizon as well, but these and one small module re-do (the Omen) are first on the plate.

It was a lot of fun collaborating with you as well!

Hopefully someday we get another opportunity. Glad to hear you have been keeping busy, can't wait to read the novel down the line.

Just got images on these today, and we should have models shipping tomorrow. We will DEFINITELY have these models for Adepticon, so these will go up on the site on April 1st. We will have 8 models that will only be available during the Adepticon season (April 1st-10th), so get them while they're hot! After that, we'll be doing re-sculpts on those to get them a little more suited for specific purposes (booster packs, and additional upcoming box sets).

Just a quick question, but are the 8 Adepticon models the Flesh Golem and other exclusives that were listed on Facebook, or are they models that will be available in the boxed set? I guess I'm a bit confused about the re-sculpting part, would you be re-sculpting the models that come in the boxed set? Would the re-sculpting be small things such as weapon swaps or major changes like changing of the proportions of the models?

The reason I ask is that if the models are going to be significantly changed I'm not sure whether its better to pick them up now, or see what they look like later. If it's something like changing the proportions I'd be a bit concerned, but if it is more along the lines of weapon swaps I would probably just pick them up earlier.

Thanks for your hard work Anton and I look forward to seeing some pictures (and I actually got a very small amount of paint on a few of my Hunters the other night- and I hope to add significantly more tomorrow)!

None of these models will have proportion issues, as that's a huge concern of mine personally (the Reclaimer Techno that's not in our box set being one of the only ones in our line with scale creep, but that model will be phased out shortly).

The 8 that I'm referring to that will be up for Adepticon week only will probably be either included in box sets down the road (such as the Arhk trooper), or that will go through the conversion process for various reasons (the Reclaimer Zealot needs a more suitable weapon for example, the Drifter Locusts will get head swaps, and some other details that make them a better fit to the faction).

There are also 8 additional models that will be up as a set starting on the 1st. These are part of the Showdown at Tierra Gulch box set. The final format on that is still forthcoming, but it will be some terrain, 8 models, and scenarios for a price point of $60. The models will be available individually as well for $8.49 each (which is going to be our directly-only price for all individual models). This will allow people to get only what they want.

If you like what you're seeing on here, please spread the word! Every bit helps tremendously.

And I definitely want to see your Hunters with paint on them! Battle reports too.

That's really great to hear Anton, and has definitely alleviated my worries. One thing I've been very impressed with so far with the Wreck-Age line (I currently have the Stitcher, Drifter, and Staker starters) is how the models all scale well against each other. While I'm not a huge stickler on the actual scale of miniatures (though I do tend to prefer the more "true-scale" approach you guys take), I definitely feel that the scale should be pretty consistent across a line - which you guys are doing an excellent job at. When scales are wildly different across a line, it really removes a lot of the aesthetic for me (GW is a great example, they can't even get scales consistent within factions, much less their entire lines).

I'm really looking forward to the boxed set, hopefully I can get my fiance to try out the quick start rules with me. I think she will like them (she enjoys X-Wing and Endless fantasy tactics quite a bit). Unfortunately most of my gaming buddies are on the other side of the state, but on the plus side I'll be moving back over there within five months - which will mean battle reports hopefully!

I'm hoping to finish the three Hunters I am working on this weekend, since I have finished all my responsibilities for the week, I'll post up some pictures when they are done!

Thanks for your quick response and I look forward to seeing the new releases!

I think that in the push to get stuff out the door, a lot of companies are willing to sacrifice those sorts of details in order to make money. I understand the conundrum in some of those cases, but you're right, sometimes it's totally inexcusable. I'm really hoping that the box set will draw people in. I'm working on finishing up the scenarios right now. I haven't gotten in any other gaming in a while, and i'm hoping that I can change that at Adepticon.

Looking forward to your Hunters... and just as a secret between you and me, I got all the stuff up on the web cart a little early.
;)

Take a look and let me know what you think. I won't have painted copies until after Adpeticon, since we had to skip getting shipped masters in order to get these all out in time. We're not going to do a big announcement until that point, since we don't want people looking at our un-painted models... it's like seeing someone in their underwear.

I'm curious to see the vendor minis. Maybe you'll have some left by the time I find you at Adepticon. Since reading the book I've thought the caravaneers would be fun to run a campaign around, and those minis mght be in the right theme to fit.

Also, Capybaras! Who doesn't love that?

I think you are definitely right there, and I suppose a lot of gamers aren't too picky on scale if the model looks decent enough. Personally scale is something I've come to value a lot in miniatures in the last five or six years - and I'd say you folks at Wreck-Age are doing an exemplary job at a number of things with your range. 1) The models are proportioned like normal humans (no huge hands or heads to be seen!) 2) You have a really good variety of male and female models (and with varying shapes and sizes!). 3) The miniatures are dressed appropriate to their roles - I can't stress how much it bothers me seeing female miniatures wearing nothing but a "chainmail bikini" when their male counterpart is wearing functional armor. Honestly I can see why comparatively few women find miniature gaming appealing at first glance. Okay, enough with that rant. TL:DR; I really enjoy the minis you guys are putting out.

I just finished with my current backlog project (Skeletons for roleplaying) and the three hunters (two which I have started on), are on the painting station ready to go first thing for my day off tomorrow.

I took a look at the new stuff and I must say, I'm really impressed I really love the poses of the starter miniatures (I like the guy with the long rifle and the Drifter with the two handed weapon a lot). I think it might help to have a larger image (or higher resolution so it can be magnified) so more detail can be made out on the individual miniatures, but that's the only thought I had. I ordered one of the new starters, a flesh golem, and a set of the security team. I'll be back for some Reclaimers and more minis when I have some more funds available too. I can understand your sentiment about the announcement and not having pictures of painted models, though seeing your new stuff unpainted is like seeing someone in their underwear - at least they're attractive : ).

One of the next projects after the Uprisen and Omen is likely going to be a book with in-depth community rules and the Fringes. I wanted to write faction books soon as well, but those are probably going to have to be put off until later. Only so much one guy can do!

Thanks for the kind words. I definitely went out of my way to make sure that there was a good variety of both quality female models that weren't "sexy females", and that the scale was consistent across the line. It can be a headache, because I've rejected several sculpts that should have been able to work.

Unfortunately, we didn't have any suitable conversions for the Showdown at Black Tierra Gulch box set that were females, which kind of makes it a sausage fest, but I will definitely make sure that's balanced out in future sets.

I don't actually have these minis in hand yet, and while I did get some good shots before I sent the greens, I want people to see exactly what they're getting. The rush to get this all done in time for Adepticon was pretty intense, so a lot of this stuff fell through the cracks admittedly.

Thanks for all the feedback, and I'll have better pictures of all of this stuff up after Adepticon. I need a local painter badly. I'm way too slow and all my extra time is currently wrapped up in content development, although I need to switch over to marketing quite badly.

Of Course, I really appreciate you guys making practical models for their setting, and it's nice to see a turn away from gaming stereotypes for female models in the industry for a change. I personally like painting and fielding models that look the part ( it's nice to have miniatures that represent female characters rather than "charicatures"), and I'm sure any potential female players will appreciate being able to must models that aren't absurdly oversexualized. No worries with the sausage fest, they are all great looking minis, and I am looking forward to them. I enjoy both your male and female models equally - I just find the female ones you put out very remarkable by industry standards.

I could imagine there is a lot of work involved, and I hope it goes well for you guys there (convert lots of fans). Seems like you have your hands full there Anton, I wish I could be of more assistance but I'm in the middle of nowhere in Washington state. I'm also not a studio quality painter, haha (though I think few can make that claim). Speaking of painting, the Stitcher Hunters are almost done, I'll be able to finish them up on Wednesday I hope. I'll definitely do my best to convert my buddies to Wreck-Age when I get back to civilization (and hopefully convert a few online before then).

Related question.......added here as there is already a lot of discussion on the merits of the WA sculpts and I have not found the answer anywhere else.

Who is the sculptor?

Those OG sculpts were sculpted by Pierre Francois, Mohand and Sylvain masterfully converted by Aaron Schmidt (twitter.com/the_xenite. Great work by a bunch of talented dudes.

Oh wow, I never head any idea that PF worked on the Wreck-Age sculpts - though now that you mention it, i can see it. He's a great sculptor and has some really cool stuff on his blog.

Not to beat a dead horse, but any word when the new boxed set will be finished up and ship out? I ordered one a while ago, and can't wait to get my grubby mits on it.

Absolutely.
Some of the finest figures I have ever had the fun of painting. I love the true proportion style, realistic weaponry and the slightly subdued poses. Hoping there are many more to come.
