Hey,

I'm Elliott. I live in SLC, UT and love RPGing. Often I create my own settings and love to create new worlds. I've always loved the idea of what would happen if current society was an artifact with some type of separation from present. I am interested in the Wreck-Age mostly because it promises a game based off of community generation, and wider spread community archetypes. Living in the Western US, in particular Utah, there are threads of communities built upon particular interests, and ways of interacting independent from the larger world. A return to the frontier, and isolated cultures bring great interest to me. Likewise I would love to try miniatures gaming, and the game seems reasonably priced for someone new to the hobby.

I've been diving through the online store, and Drive Through RPG, getting to know the game. I read Blackwood Beginnings, and could picture a game where you go out and try to make new settlements, come across new possible enemies and allies, and interact with cultures that have been shaped very different than the ones the players generated together. In a few paychecks here, I'm looking forward to getting the game, and seeing how it supports robust sandbox play. :)

Excited to explore,
Atomic Sorcery

Hey there! Thanks for signing up. We just put up the 2nd edition basic rules for free, and while that's geared for tabletop miniatures combat, the basic rules are essentially the same, with the addition of skills and some fleshing out of characters to play the Narrative RPG.

Don't let money be an issue in getting into the game. If you've got ideas for scenarios and backstory, we're happy to feed you PDFs of our current content if you want to become a part of creating the universe in your own back yard!

We have an expansion on community creation and management coming in the very near future, after we finish up with our upcoming vehicle miniatures kickstarter. From there, we're switching gears and focusing on a lot of narrative RPG content.

We'd love to hear your thoughts and ideas!

Thank you.

I've got an idea or two concerning formation of Templars in the areas around Salt Lake, with something of an internal sea in the Great Basin, but that isn't any thing new for an area that has something of a history when it comes to Post Apocalyptic games. If I were to base a game here, I would likely use ideas similar to Dogs in the Vineyard, travelling young people with absolute moral authority acting as circuit riders, and travelling lawmen. I might change it to focus on carvanners and sailors trading along the coast of a Salt Sea,scavenging from High Tech ruins like Los Vegas, Reno, Salt Lake...

I've for a long time had this idea of a atomic war happening, and people dwelling in the subway tunnels of Mexico City. The tunnels become a mix of clans, and eventually that musky and dangerous area becomes difficult to maintain. Periodically people are exiled from the tunnels below the city and set to live in the jungles surrounding the city. These exiles are forced to make their own way in the world, and work with or against those strange other societies that have formed in the wake of civilization's destruction. Originally it was going to be built as a board game with tiles and cards where you would generate the society you encountered giving each an adjective, and action and a need. Alternatively I think it would give the PCs a nice starting point for deciding the direction of the community and gives the idea of braving the frontier to discover what is around you.

If these don't work with current lore, I'd love to explore the fiction some more and see what I can do with it.

So far, Utah hasn't had much love, and I think that your idea fits really nicely in to the world.

On the outskirts of the area you're talking about, we have Electric City (Las Vegas), and then Shangri LA (LA) to the west of that. There is a whole expansion on Shangri LA, and a few paragraphs only about Electric City, so there's definitely room there to grow without retconning anything. Road Wardens patrol Electric City, and the city-states boundaries, and there could possibly be some cross over into the area of the Salt Lake. Caravaneer paths mostly go north up through Redding, but there could definitely be some trade to Shangri LA through the area. Shoot me an email at anton at wreck-age dot net and we can chat about your ideas... and how in depth you want to get with them. If nothing else, I love chatting about this stuff, but if you're serious and motivated, we can talk about making something happen, and even if you just want to write it for your gaming group, that's awesome too... but we definitely love collaborative projects (which is how Shangri LA came about).

Mexico City is the city state of Esperanza in our game, and is the most populous city in North America. Esperanza is a chaotic, colorful city, with over a million inhabitants. We have an expansion partially already partially written, so there's a lot of background there. The tunnel theme might work there, but they'd have to take a lot into account.

South of there are bio-engineered rain forests called Nu Rain or Nurain, controlled by a techno-indigenous tribe, that's run by a rich guy who stayed behind after the exodus (or at least that's what people think). He sunk a bunch of money into technology to convince people he was a master of "magic" and he doles out this magic to those high up in the leadership.

So my initial thought is that maybe your tunnels could work in between the two areas of Nu Rain and Esperanza.

I like the ideas you've got, and there's definitely room for them to fit in the world. Let's chat about it and see if there's some potential to work on something!
